I highly recommend the Football Girls program run by Coach Haley Gleeson. She's done a wonderful job helping my six-year-old daughter over the last two years, and all the kids absolutely adore her.

Not only has my daughter’s skills and knowledge of football improved, but Coach Haley and her team really focus on teaching our girls life lessons and just being a good person. Ultimately, coach Haley is helping our girls grow into strong, independent young women, teaching them the importance of discipline, teamwork, and compassion.

The program teaches the girls to balance their competitive nature with the importance of working together. It also works on helping our girls become confident and kind individuals. I think everyone who wants their kids to succeed not only in sports, but in life, should get their daughters on this program.

As a parent I’m extremely grateful to Coach Haley and her team for their enriching service in our community and the work they have done with our daughter. I definitely plan to enrol our youngest daughter when she is old enough.

We heard about The Football Girls through a friend and enrolled our daughter in a holiday program years ago. Ever since then we have enrolled her in all the football girls holiday and term programmes we could fit in. Our daughter’s skills and love of football have grown immeasurably since then (along with her circle of lovely young friends). The football girl’s program has been a large part of that growth. The programmes strengths include:

The team of coaches Haley has built around her – a fantastic bunch of coaches who are committed to developing the love of the game and ongoing participation in every participant.
The values she teaches the girls – particularly teamwork (being a positive and supportive teammate) and giving your best effort, both at training and on match-day, but not getting caught up on mistakes or just having a bad day!
Hayley’s enthusiasm, laughter, sense of humour and encouragement!
Role models – so many great NZ footballers come to help in coaching, encouraging and inspiring the girls (often with a few bits of gear to give away).
Hayley’s knowledge of the game itself, and methods of developing the girls’ skills, fitness and tactics in a fun and productive way.
