Aimee Atkins

Hey everyone. My name is Aimee. I was born and raised in Hawkes Bay but decided to make a change and come up to Auckland in 2022 to play for Eastern Suburbs AFC in the premier team which is where I am currently.

I have coached both football and futsal for approximately 3 years now and am very passionate with helping young girls succeed in the sport. I have loved every minute with all the girls I have coached from ages 5-18 years old, under The Football Girls at different schools such as Diocesan, St Cuthberts, Kings College and at my club, Eastern Suburbs.

My football story started from being involved in the U17 New Zealand football camps in 2018 to representing New Zealand at the New Zealand Secondary Schools U17 team in 2019 in America and being called to the U20 Camps at the age of 17. Unfortunately, my football story was put on hold as I ruptured my ACL but here I am today playing the sport I love at the top level in New Zealand!

 

I love being in an environment where young girls want to be the best they can be and are open to learning from us coaches, to improve not only on their skills and technique, but also grow confidence in the safe hands of the team at The Football Girls - with all the other girls who show up ready to go. 

 

I am excited for the year ahead. Bring on 2024.
